A Bachelor’s Program for Technical Specialists

Industrial Technology and Management (INTM) at IIT is a completion program for students who have two years of credit toward an AAS or AS degree at a community college or in a technical training program. Students are technical specialists, many of whom are already employed in manufacturing, construction, supply chain/logistics, or facilities, and recognize the importance of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in order to maximize their career opportunities and qualify for supervisory and managerial positions.

Attractive Program Options for Community College Transfer Students

  • Classes are held evenings at IIT’s Chicago campus, via interactive video from IIT’s Rice campus in Wheaton, and online to accommodate working students.
  • Students may pursue one of five different industrial specializations, or choose electives to suit individual career interests.
  • All full-time domestic transfer students are reviewed for merit-based scholarships.
  • Part-time INTM students may be eligible for the Keith E. McKee Scholarship.
  • Students in Trade Unions or Professional Associations may be eligible for support from our industry partners.

Preparing for Transfer to IIT

Due to the wide range of technical AAS/AS programs available in community colleges, prospective students are encouraged to speak with an IIT adviser or admissions counselor at least one semester prior to transfer to IIT. It is not uncommon that an additional course or two is needed over and above AAS/AS degree requirements in order to fulfill BINTM admission requirements. Prospective students may contact the INTM Office at 312.567.3650 to speak with a staff member about admission requirements and other program details, or to schedule a visit to IIT to meet with an academic adviser.

Some of these institutions have links on their websites related to the BINTM program. INTM distributes posters and brochures to all regional community colleges, and each semester campus visits are made by INTM faculty to visit classrooms and meet with prospective students. To learn if an upcoming visit will take place at your school, please contact Ms. Eve Gutmann, INTM Communications Coordinator, at 312.567.3649 or egutmann@iit.edu.
