The Office of Professional Development of School of Applied Technology (SAT) combines university-wide resources to establish a common administration and support structure for non-degree technology-oriented training and certificates, corporate training, short courses and seminars ranging from a few hours to several days in length. In addition, the Office of Professional Development also develops and delivers English language courses to serve the needs of people from all countries.

Illinois Institute of Technology has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). In obtaining this approval, Illinois Institute of Technology has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard which is widely recognized as the Standard of good practice internationally. As a result of their Authorized Provider accreditation status, IIT School of Applied Technology is authorized to offer IACET CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.
