English Language Program courses are supplemental English language courses for the undergraduate, graduate, and international certificate programs. They provide a linguistic bridge for currently admitted international students who need improvement with the English language. We offer skill-building courses in academic reading, listening, writing, and communication that develop linguistic and cultural competence.
Currently admitted students interested in taking these English courses must take the English language assessments. Please note: English language assessments are required for some students. Please refer to English Language Assessments in order to see if you are required to take them.
Students interested in coming to Illinois Institute of Technology to take these courses while seeking a degree or taking courses abroad towards your degree should apply directly to the program in your interested field of study at the undergraduate, graduate, or international certificate level.
The English Language Program, when all of the skill-building courses are taken concurrently, also serves as an additional semester for English-only students continuing from the Intensive English Program.
The International Certificate program, under the Office of Professional Development, is a unique opportunity for intermediate to advanced English speakers to study 3 Information Technology and/or Business courses in addition to taking 2 English Language Program courses.
