Financial Aid at Illinois Tech

Financial Aid at Illinois Tech

Illinois Tech’s Office of Financial Aid helps students secure financial aid loans, maintain scholarship eligibility, and inform them of university policies and outside resources.

All incoming undergraduate students are assessed for university scholarships during the admission process. To supplement scholarships and grants, financial aid loans are also identified to enable students to cover the majority of costs associated with pursuit of an advanced degree.

Domestic students who wish to obtain financial aid loans must complete the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, in a timely manner. Illinois Tech’s school code is 001691. Complete details on FAFSA deadlines and student loans are posted on the Illinois Tech Financial Aid website.

All students are encouraged to review Frequently Asked Questions regarding financial aid at Illinois Tech.

Once a student’s financial aid package has been assembled, the student must formally accept student loans through the ‘My Finances’ tab within the myIIT Portal and sign a Master Promissory Note. Failure to accept loans and expedite required promissory note(s) will delay disbursement of funds to the student account. Detailed information on loan types, interest rates, and accepting loans is posted on the Financial Aid website under Loans.

Learn more about the cost of attendance, tuition and fees, and access a financial aid calculator on the Office of Undergraduate Admission website.

Incoming graduate students with exceptionally strong academic records are assessed for university scholarships during the admission process. Scholarship awards at the graduate level are very competitive and lesser in number compared to undergraduate opportunities. International students are required to provide evidence of adequate financial resources to cover one year of study in the U.S. Private loans for international students are only available if the loan is co-signed by a creditworthy U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
