Illinois Tech Information Technology and Management makes many of its courses available online offering you the convenience of anytime, anywhere delivery available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The courses are asynchronous, meaning they are available for review on-demand 24/7 at a time that fits your schedule. Students who miss a live class due to illness may view the online content they missed if the course has an online component. Courses may be viewed from any computer with an Internet connection and the proper software.
Courses follow the same academic calendar as the University and typically meet for a 16-week semester. Courses are available for the duration of the semester and are accessible via Blackboard, Illinois Tech's current learning management system. Online courses are the same as the live in-classroom course. Exams follow the same schedule, and are typically administered at local testing centers for students in the United States.
There are no Illinois Tech Online students at Illinois Tech. There are only Illinois Tech students who take their courses and programs online. There is no distinction between a distance or online student and the on-campus student – both take the same courses from the same world-class faculty and earn the same well-respected degrees. And all students use the same course space in Blackboard, our learning management system.
Most of our online programs are designed for graduate students, but all students – degree seeking or non-degree seeking, credit or non-credit – will discover a distance learning option to meet their educational needs or career goals. Students will discover that Illinois Tech Online delivers.
In addition to online courses, Illinois Tech offers Video-Conference Delivery (Synchronous). Video-conference courses are live courses, typically arranged due to special circumstances involving remote locations.
Many Information Technology and Management (ITM) programs are available online
