Paper to Be Presented at 2019 International Criminology Conference

Three members of the Illinois Institute of Technology community have been invited to present their paper “Investigating American Extremists and Terrorist Activities on Anonymous Internet Social Media Platforms” at the 2019 International Criminology Conference, to be held on October 31 in Washington, D.C. The paper’s co-authors, all from the School of Applied Technology, are Maurice Dawson, assistant professor and director of the Center for Cyber Security and Forensics Education, along with graduate students Jose Luis Castanon Remy, and Andreas Vassilakos, who is a Foreign Affairs Information Technology Fellow through the United States United States Department of State.

The conference, now in its fourth year, is sponsored by the Policy Studies Organization and its partners to promote interdisciplinary dialogue about topics related to criminology in its broadest context, including causes, consequences both on a micro- and macro-level, control, and prevention.
