The Information Technology Certificate Program (IT) and the Industrial Technology Professional Certificate Program (INTM) offered through the Office of Professional Development of the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago are semester long training classes designed for working professionals who are either looking to upgrade or expand their IT skills, or make a career change into the field of computer technology or technology management. All programs are approved for students receiving funding through WIOA (Workforce Investment and Opportunities Act).
Classes are a combination of both lecture and lab, which allows students hands-on practice of the skills and concepts presented. All classes are taught by proven industry professionals who enhance the learning process with real world knowledge and experience. Classes may be taken individually, or as a three course certificate program sequence awarding the participant a Professional (3+ courses) or Career (2 courses) Certificate in one of the concentrations listed below.

Workforce Investment Act (WIA/WIOA)
The Workforce Investment Act is an innitiative that offers financial assistance to unemployed persons or persons who meet the federal low-income guidelines for job training.

Professional Certificate Programs are one of the many groups of offerings within the Office of Professional Development department which has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102. In obtaining this approval, the Office of Professional Development of the School of Applied Technology has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard which is widely recognized as the Standard of good practice internationally. As a result of their Authorized Provider accreditation status, the Office of Professional Development is authorized to offer IACET CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.
