Daniel Krieglstein is the Director of Behavioral Design at 4D Healthware. A software platform for wearable sensors created to help keep track of patients with chronic conditions. The platform helps patients adhere to care plans and make better lifestyle decisions for their health. As a well-funded startup, Daniel wears a few professional hats. From Product Manager to User Testing, the role of a Behavioral Designer is one that is ultimately tasked with making sure the product actually gets used by real customers.
Daniel is also a Ph.D. candidate in Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Having completed his clinical training, he resolved to turn his grant funded dissertation into a database company (CEO, The JournalWiki). The goal is to redesign the discovery process for academic research articles. The JournalWiki was inspired by his frustrations working with the current social science research databases; considered the gold standard of research databases. Daniel has spent just shy of a decade working with social media technologies as both a researcher and consultant. He presented this work at the annual Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies conferences.
Daniel taught in the Psychology program at Illinois Institute of Technology for 8 years and in Northeastern Illinois University's Psychology Program for 2 years. He’s been teaching in Information Technology and Management Department at Illinois Institute of Technology since 2015. Additionally, he is a Peer Reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Psychology, a Senior Editor on Wikipedia, novice coder, and avid gamer.
